You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. [Galatians 5:4]

One thing we do will make us fall away from the grace of God: trying to earn our blessings. I'm not saying don't work, but when the focus of our work is our work and not Jesus, trying to fend for ourself instead of resting in the Savior, we have fallen from grace, for we try to earn our physical salvation (in work, for example).

My friends, stop coming to God with your best efforts. To Him it's just like grass. (1 Peter 1:24-25) God don't want you putting up a show in front of Him. He wants you to boldly encounter Him, here's the key phrase, through His Son. He wants your righteousness, blessing, provision not due to your stinky works, as with my stinky works, but due to the finished work of Christ, that Christ was cursed so that you and I might be blessed!
