Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. [2 Corinthians 5:17]
Why does the Holy Spirit honor believers as new creations? That is because our sinful flesh has died with Christ at the cross. The life that now lives in us is the life that worships and glorifies Jesus.
Why then do we still sin? Just like how we get the wavy feeling after a long ride on the waters, so is like sin. It still bugs us, even though God has already seen it condemned at the cross. Now, God wants to teach us new creations the victorious life, the Christ-centered life that brings forth reigning in life! So you are a new creation, righteous and blameless, apart from your works!
