Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. [Psalm 23:4]
This is the strength that will empower you to fear nothing, not even death: the presence of your Savior. Nothing can separate you from the love of Christ, ever (Romans 8:38-39).
The rod and staff are used for discipline of the sheep to continue walking in the paths of righteousness (23:4). Don't be afraid when God redirects your plans: He's training you to be wiser and stronger than ever before! God disciplines you 'cos He loves you!
